Navigation & Maps
Metrogaining
A form of rogaining held in urban or suburban environments, often using streets, parks and public pathways.
Metrogaines follow rogaining rules: find as many scoring checkpoints as you can within the time limit. They're usually shorter, so they're a popular first event.
In the wild
"The metrogaine took us through three parks and a lot of back streets we'd never noticed before."
Why it matters
A low-pressure way to practise route choice and map reading close to home.
Rex's tip: Cafés aren't checkpoints. Probably.
Want to put your navigation skills to the test?
Metrogaines offer an opportunity to practise route planning and navigation in a more familiar urban environment.
