Lawyer Vine

A climbing rainforest palm with hooked spines that grab clothing and skin. The name comes from how hard it is to escape once it has hold of you.

In the wild

"Watch out for lawyer vine in the gully."

Rex's tip: Don't pull. Back up slowly. The vine always wins a tug of war.

Also known as

wait-a-while, calamus
