Zenith Beach
Port Stephens, NSW
A pocket beach at the foot of Tomaree Head in Tomaree National Park — the usual start for the Shoal Bay to Fingal Bay walk.
About this place
Zenith Beach is the small sandy cove between Tomaree Head and the next rocky point at Shoal Bay, inside Tomaree National Park and the Port Stephens–Great Lakes Marine Park. Upper and lower carparks here are the practical trailhead for Tomaree Head Summit walk (already listed separately) and for the 5 km Shoal Bay to Fingal Bay section of the Tomaree Coastal Walk. There are no lifeguards on Zenith itself — NPWS recommends swimming at patrolled Fingal Bay. Dolphins and shorebirds are common. Arrive early; parking fills on summer weekends.
Access & getting there
Follow Shoal Bay Road to the upper or lower Zenith Beach carpark. Port Stephens Coaches route 130 stops at Shoal Bay. Paid and free parking — check signage.
Zenith Beach carpark, Shoal Bay Road, Shoal Bay NSW 2315
Safety notes
Unpatrolled. Rock platforms and swell. Swim at Fingal Bay if you want patrols. Tomaree Head track is steep and separate.
