Winifred Falls
Royal National Park, NSW
Swimable Royal National Park waterfall on the Hacking's south-west arm, a steep 2km return off Warumbul Road.
About this place
Winifred Falls is a Royal leftover hiding in the Warumbul precinct: a pretty sandstone waterfall and swimming pool reached on a short, steep walk from a gated fire trail on Warumbul Road. About 2km return and an hour if you go straight there; add Anice Falls further along for a quieter extra. The fire trail is easy, then a steep drop to the creek and rock shelf. No NPWS visitor centre, no toilets, no drinking water. It is not The Coast Track, not Figure Eight, and not Audley — exactly the inland Royal swim hole people miss.
Access & getting there
From Audley take Sir Bertram Stevens Drive then Warumbul Road. Park at the small clearing by the gated fire trail; the falls track is signed. Park 7am-8.30pm, $12 per vehicle. No facilities.
Warumbul Rd, Royal National Park NSW 2232 (gated fire trail / small carpark opposite the signed track)
Safety notes
Slippery rock around the pool. No lifeguards. Do not jump into the pool. Flash flooding after rain. Limited mobile coverage.
Gear notes
Swim kit, shoes with grip, water. Optional extra water if adding Anice Falls.
