West Head Lookout
Northern Beaches, NSW
One of Sydney's best lookouts — Pittwater, Barrenjoey Lighthouse, Lion Island and Broken Bay from the tip of Ku-ring-gai Chase.
About this place
West Head lookout is the sandstone viewing platform at the end of West Head Road, and the views hold up to the hype. Broken Bay sits to the left, Pittwater to the right, and Barrenjoey Head and lighthouse dead ahead, with Lion Island and the Central Coast beaches beyond. Interpretive signs cover the WWII battery below and the Aboriginal heritage of the headland. Combine it with Resolute picnic area or the Aboriginal Heritage walk. Gates close at 8.30pm in daylight saving and 6pm the rest of the year.
Access & getting there
