Wells and Sturt's tree walking tracks
Corner Country, NSW
A 7 km Corner Country walk from Fort Grey across Lake Pinaroo to Charles Sturt’s blazed coolabah near Cameron Corner.
About this place
NPWS suggests about 3 hours for this 7 km combination: Wells walk is a 4 km loop past Old Fort Grey homestead ruins, then an optional ~3 km return across dry Lake Pinaroo to Sturt’s tree, a blazed coolabah on the explorer’s inland-sea expedition. When the Ramsar wetland is full you cannot cross to the tree — go for the birdlife instead. Start at the east end of Fort Grey campground, near Cameron Corner.
