Wattamolla
Royal National Park, NSW
Royal National Park's family lagoon — a waterfall-fed cove, ocean beach and Coast Track rest stop in one bay.
About this place
Wattamolla is the Royal's most popular day-use beach for a reason. A lagoon sits behind the sand, fed by a small waterfall, with a separate ocean beach beyond the headland. It is a natural base for Coast Track sections toward Curracurrang and Eagle Rock, or just a swim and a barbecue under cabbage tree palms. The lagoon is the calmer option; the ocean beach is unpatrolled. Go early on weekends — the carpark fills, and a park entry fee applies.
Access & getting there
Park entry fee. Royal National Park is open 7am to 8.30pm. Carpark is busy from late morning. Check NPWS alerts for pontoon, toilet and beach access changes.
