Warrego Floodplain walking track
Far West, NSW
Easy 1 km return Grade 2 stroll through coolibahs to Warrego Floodplain lookout in Toorale National Park.
About this place
Warrego Floodplain walking track starts at Warrego Floodplain picnic area (Wariku Pulka) and follows a wide dirt avenue of coolibahs to a sheltered lookout. NPWS lists 1 km return (about 30 min, Grade 2). Best March–October after summer rain, when wildflowers and waterbirds — ibis, pelicans, brolgas — use the Warrego–Darling junction floodplain. Watch for emus, goannas and shingleback lizards (bogeyes).
