Tomaree Coastal Walk
Port Stephens, NSW
27 km NSW Great Walk from Tomaree Head at Shoal Bay to Birubi Point, usually walked over 2-3 days through Tomaree National Park villages.
About this place
NPWS and NSW Government list the Tomaree Coastal Walk as a 27 km multi-day track from Tomaree Head, Shoal Bay, to Birubi Point Aboriginal Place at Anna Bay. It retraces Worimi routes over volcanic headlands, beaches, rock platforms and angophora forest, finishing at the Worimi Conservation Lands dunes. A typical 2-day split is 18 km to One Mile then 9 km to Birubi; a 3-day pace adds time on Tomaree Head. Shorter sections include Shoal Bay to Fingal Bay (about 5 km) and Birubi Point to One Mile. Stay in coastal villages rather than walk-in camps. Tomaree Head summit is a separate steep side trip already well known locally.
Access & getting there
