The Walls lookout Mount Canobolas
Mount Canobolas, NSW
Clifftop lookout on Mount Canobolas SCA with Orange-district views, popular at sunset and after snow.
About this place
NPWS The Walls lookout is a formed clifftop viewpoint in Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area, not the similarly named Walls lookout at Pierces Pass in the Blue Mountains. It looks over volcanic cliffs and the Central Tablelands around Orange. Pair it with Federal Falls walking track and Gaanha-bula summit. The plateau is one of inland NSW’s more reliable light-snow spots in a cold winter, but it is not a ski resort.
Access & getting there
Drive from Orange via Mount Canobolas Road. Roads can ice or close in winter. No dogs. Short walk from the lookout parking. Do not confuse with Walls lookout at Pierces Pass (Blue Mountains).
