The Pass Cafe

Byron Bay, NSW

Beachside breakfast and coffee at Palm Valley — the refuel stop at the bottom of the Cape Byron walking track.

About this place

The Pass Cafe has sat beside The Pass surf break in Walgun Cape Byron State Conservation Area since 2010, serving simple meals, Botero coffee and a licensed drinks list on a deck above the sand. It is the obvious post-swim, post-lighthouse-walk cafe: vegan and gluten-free options, takeaway for the beach, and NPWS-listed accessible parking at the precinct. Open roughly 7 am-2 pm daily. Walk in from the Cape Byron track or drive Brooke Drive where the boardwalk ends.

Access & getting there

Paid NPWS parking at The Pass. Cafe listed on nationalparks.nsw.gov.au. Hours typically 7 am-2 pm; confirm on thepasscafe.com.au.
