Thaaklatjika Mingkana walking track
Far West, NSW
Wheelchair-friendly 800 m return walk to Thaaklatjika (Wright’s Cave) rock art in Mutawintji’s gorges.
About this place
NPWS describes this 0.8 km return (30–60 min) Grade 2 walk as suitable for wheelchairs, winding to the Thaaklatjika overhang — Wright’s Cave — with Aboriginal paintings, stencils and engravings plus post-colonial history. River red gums line the creek beneath Bynguano sandstone. Mutawintji Historic Site itself remains guided-tour only; this public track is the accessible art-site walk from the Homestead Creek precinct.
