Talpero lookout
Corner Country, NSW
Corner Country lookout near Fort Grey with the big bandicoot sculpture and desert views toward Cameron Corner.
About this place
Talpero lookout is about two hours from Tibooburra near Fort Grey campground. NPWS installed a 2 m western barred bandicoot sculpture made from predator-proof fence offcuts; similar sculptures stand at Cameron Corner (bilby) and Fort Grey (western quoll). Picnic here and read about reintroductions of golden bandicoots and greater bilbies. Talpero is the local Aboriginal name for the western barred bandicoot.
