Stepping Stone Crossing to Cascades trail

Garigal National Park, NSW

An easy 2.6km Garigal creek walk linking Stepping Stone Crossing on Middle Harbour Creek with the Cascades rock pools.

About this place

NPWS lists this Grade 3 trail as 2.6km one-way, 27 minutes to an hour, joining Cascades trail with Pipeline and Bungaroo tracks and the Davidson Park to Stepping Stone Crossing route. It follows Middle Harbour Creek through wet eucalypt forest — blackbutt, swamp she-oak, angophora and black wattle — to the Cascades pools. Azure kingfishers, water dragons and urban-runoff-tolerant fish are the wildlife draw; swimming is not recommended. Access from Davidson Park, John Oxley Drive, Hunter Avenue (Bungaroo track) or the Cascades themselves. A gentle undulating walk by Garigal standards.
