Selwyn Snow Resort
Snowy Mountains, NSW
The northern Kosciuszko ski resort near Kiandra and Adaminaby, rebuilt after the 2019-20 fires.
About this place
Selwyn Snow Resort is the northernmost of the four NSW alpine resorts, in the Selwyn area of Kosciuszko National Park near Kiandra and Adaminaby. Wikipedia lists a 122 m vertical, top elevation 1614 m, eight lifts and snowmaking. The resort was destroyed in the 2019-20 bushfires, rebuilt, and operated again in subsequent winters. It ran a 2026 winter season then closed early on 23 August 2026 after rain and warm temperatures stripped remaining cover, with snowmaking upgrades flagged for 2027. There is no public accommodation on-mountain; visitors stay at Adaminaby, Talbingo, Providence Portal or Cooma. Winter access is via the Snowy Mountains Highway. Check selwynsnow.com.au for current season dates.
Access & getting there
From Adaminaby or Talbingo via the Snowy Mountains Highway, then Kings Cross Road. Kings Cross Road and Khancoban-Cabramurra Road close in winter (June to October long weekends) except resort access as signed. Park entry fees apply. No on-mountain public lodging.
