Sculptures in the Scrub walking track
North West, NSW
A 3 km return walk past award-winning Aboriginal-collaborative sculptures on Dandry Gorge in the Pilliga.
About this place
Sculptures in the Scrub walking track in Timmallallie National Park is a well-marked 3 km return (1.5–2.5 hours, Grade 3) through Dandry Gorge. Five sculptures were made by artists working with Gamilaraay Elders and young people. NPWS recommends calling at Pilliga Forest Discovery Centre, 50–58 Wellington Street, Baradine, for maps and road conditions before driving the remote forest tracks. Camp at the adjoining picnic area and campground.
Access & getting there
Remote unsealed Pilliga forest roads. Check conditions at Pilliga Forest Discovery Centre (9 am–4 pm daily). Bring extra supplies. Sandstone Caves walking track is separately closed due to rockfall — do not substitute that walk.
