Red Top lookout and boardwalk
Mungo, NSW
A 50-metre accessible boardwalk to eroded red ravines on the Mungo Self-guided Drive, distinct from the Walls of China platform.
About this place
NPWS lists Red Top lookout and boardwalk as a 0.1 km return (10–15 min) stop on the Mungo Self-guided Drive, about 30 minutes from the visitor centre. A short stretch of loose gravel leads to a 50 m, 2 m-wide timber boardwalk with railings and seats, looking over deep ravines and the drying Willandra Lakes. It is a different lunette-side viewpoint to the Walls of China platform further along the same drive.
Access & getting there
Follow the self-guided drive from Mungo Visitor Centre. Hard-packed parking at the boardwalk; caravans are better left at the Woolshed carpark. Unsealed dry-weather roads. Park entry $8.
