Place of Winds Interpretive Trail
Hornsby, NSW
Easy 1.2km boardwalk from Crosslands through saltmarsh, mangroves and woodland with interpretive signs on Dharug Country.
About this place
Place of Winds is the short, signed walk at the northern end of Crosslands Reserve. In about an hour you pass mangroves, swamp and forest, with a boardwalk over the marshes to a platform on Berowra Creek and evidence of Aboriginal occupation. It is the gentlest introduction to Berowra Valley National Park and an ideal add-on after a Crosslands picnic. Not built for wheelchairs despite the boardwalk sections.
Access & getting there
Drive to the end of Somerville Road through the Crosslands gate. Trackhead is 300m from the northern end of the carpark. Reserve hours apply.
