Patonga Beach
Central Coast, NSW
A sleepy Hawkesbury fishing village on Broken Bay — calm bay sand, a ferry link and the bush walk over to Pearl Beach.
About this place
Patonga is the southernmost village on the Central Coast, a one-kilometre sand spit between Brisbane Water National Park and the mouth of the Hawkesbury. The bay beach is calm enough for a lazy swim; the creek side has a working-boat feel. Ferries and water taxis connect to Palm Beach, and a moderate walking track climbs through the national park to Pearl Beach. Come for the quiet, not the facilities — this is still a small fishing village.
Access & getting there
Drive via Woy Woy and Patonga Drive, or ferry from Palm Beach. Walking track to Pearl Beach. Limited parking in the village.
Patonga Dr, Patonga NSW 2256
Safety notes
Unpatrolled. Tidal creek and boat traffic on the western side. National park track is steep in places — carry water.
Gear notes
Walking shoes for the Pearl Beach track.
