North Era Beach

Sutherland Shire, NSW

Coast Track beach with heritage shacks between Garie and Burning Palms — campground closed; swimming subject to NPWS alerts.

About this place

North Era Beach sits on the southern Coast Track behind a cluster of pastel heritage cabins (State Heritage listed with South Era, Little Garie and Burning Palms). Walk-in only: about 1.5 hours from Garie Beach, much longer from Otford or Bundeena. North Era campground is closed until further notice (Royal National Park Visitor Centre 02 9542 0648) — this is a day-walk beach listing, not a camp. As of late August 2026 NPWS closed swimming between Garie and Burning Palms due to shark activity around a whale carcass. Check alerts before you go. OSM: 34.17840°S 151.05644°E.
