Nilla Yannagalang Billana
Willandra, NSW
Easy 3.7 km one-way Willandra NP walk along Willandra Creek — a historic sheep-station park, distinct from Mungo's Willandra Lakes.
About this place
Nilla Yannagalang Billana means 'walking along together' in Wiradjuri. NPWS lists it as Grade 3, 3.7 km one-way (1.5-2.5 hours) from the homestead precinct of Willandra National Park, following Willandra Creek through black box woodland and black bluebush shrubland past pastoral heritage sites. Campers can start at Willandra Billabong weir. This is Willandra National Park near Hillston — a former merino station — not Mungo National Park's Willandra Lakes World Heritage Area. Park entry $8 per vehicle. Unsealed access; remote Riverina plains.
Access & getting there
Start at the north-west corner of the Willandra Homestead grounds, or from the billabong weir if camping. Unsealed dry-weather roads from Hillston. Park entry $8. Do not confuse with Mungo / Willandra Lakes further west. Carry all water.
