National Pass
Blue Mountains, NSW
A cliff-built historic walk at Wentworth Falls, currently truncated by rockfall, with the upper escarpment still open.
About this place
NPWS lists National Pass as a 4.5 km loop (2.5 to 3.5 hours) from Wentworth Falls picnic area, built into the cliff with the hand-cut Grand Stairway of the early 1900s. The full loop is closed between Valley of the Waters and Slacks Stairs due to landslide and rockfall; walkers can still use the upper section for lookouts over the falls and Jamison Valley, turning back at Slacks Stairs. Valley of the Waters including Empress, Silvia and Lodore Falls is reached from Conservation Hut. Steep stairs and hidden cliff edges.
