Mystery Bay
South Coast, NSW
A pocket of granite coves and a campground south of Narooma in Eurobodalla National Park — the land extra if you already have Montague Island listed.
About this place
Mystery Bay is a scatter of granite boulders, rock pools and sandy pockets just south of Narooma, inside Eurobodalla National Park. It is the easy mainland extra to already-listed Barunguba Montague Island: swim in the coves, picnic, or camp at Mystery Bay campground. The name comes from the unsolved 1880 disappearance of a botanist's party. Narooma's Bar Beach and Australia Rock are a short drive north if you want town facilities after a bay morning.
Access & getting there
Turn off the Princes Highway south of Narooma to Mystery Bay. Campground is bookable NPWS. Unpatrolled coves.
Mystery Bay Road, Mystery Bay NSW 2546
Safety notes
Unpatrolled. Granite can be slippery. Swell wraps into coves. Supervise children on rocks.
