Muru and Yena Tracks
Sutherland Shire, NSW
2.5km Kamay loop from Cape Solander Drive through forest and heath to Yena picnic area on the clifftop.
About this place
Muru and Yena tracks are the short Kurnell leftover loop: 1.2km on Muru to Yena picnic area and 1.3km back on Yena, 2.5km total, Grade 4, 1-1.5 hours. Vegetation shifts from dry eucalypt forest to sandstone heath and dunes; spring wildflowers and honeyeaters are the draw. Yena picnic area sits on a grassy clifftop looking along the rock platforms toward Cape Solander. Keep off the rock shelf — waves sweep people in. Detour on Banks-Solander track to learn the 1770 plant collections. Two road crossings of Cape Solander Drive. Toilets at Commemoration Flat.
