The Mount Banks Picnic Area is a wonderful, quieter alternative to the busier Blue Mountains lookouts. It sits off the Bells Line of Road within Blue Mountains National Park and serves as the trailhead for the Mount Banks Summit Walk — a rewarding 3km return hike to the summit at 1,064m. The picnic area has tables in a sheltered bush setting, and the walk to the top delivers dramatic views over the Grose Valley and Wollemi National Park.
