Manly Scenic Walkway
Northern Beaches, NSW
Sydney's classic harbour hike — 10km of bush, hidden beaches and Middle Harbour views from Spit Bridge to Manly.
About this place
Also known as the Spit Bridge to Manly Walk, this is one of Sydney's best day walks and a favourite for a reason. Starting on the north side of Spit Bridge, the track threads Fisher Bay, Clontarf and Castle Rock before entering Sydney Harbour National Park around Dobroyd Head. Don't skip the Aboriginal engravings at Grotto Point or the lookout at Arabanoo. Finish with a swim at Forty Baskets or Reef Beach and a ferry home from Manly.
Access & getting there
Starts on the north side of Spit Bridge. Bus to Spit Bridge or ferry to Manly and walk in reverse. High-tide detours apply in a few bays. Dogs are not permitted through Sydney Harbour National Park sections.
North side of Spit Bridge, Spit Rd, Seaforth NSW 2092
Safety notes
Some sections flood at high tide. Carry water and sun protection. Watch footing on rock shelves and stairs.
Gear notes
Sturdy walking shoes. Swimmers if you plan a dip. Bring water — fountains at Clontarf, Fairlight and Manly only.
