About this place
Little Mountain walking track runs 4.8 km return (about 3 hours, Grade 4) from Dry Tank campground through mulga to a lookout over the entire northern escarpment of the Gunderbooka Range. NPWS flags it as good for birdwatching and walking with kids who can handle a longer outback track, and especially beautiful at sunset. Mount Gunderbooka rises about 500 m above the surrounding plains near Bourke.
Access & getting there
South of Bourke on unsealed park roads. Dry weather; check alerts. No drinking water at Dry Tank. Park may close after rain or fire danger.
