Korogoro walking track
North Coast, NSW
A 3.2 km loop around Hat Head's Korogoro Point through littoral rainforest, heath and endangered native grasses, with big coastal views.
About this place
Korogoro walking track circles the easternmost headland of Hat Head National Park. NPWS lists it as 3.2 km loop, 1–2 hours, a moderate walk through rare littoral rainforest, she-oak stands (food for glossy black cockatoos), heath and kangaroo grass. Steep pinches are rewarded with picnic-worthy ocean views; flannel flowers bloom in spring. Bring binoculars for whales and birds. Park entry fees apply. Hat Head village is the access point, south of South West Rocks and well away from already-listed Smoky Cape.
Access & getting there
Drive into Hat Head village and follow signs to the headland / walking track. Park entry $8 per vehicle per day.
