Hominy Bakery

Blue Mountains, NSW

Katoomba's sourdough and pastry institution: pies, danishes and potato bread a short walk from the station.

About this place

Hominy Bakery at 185 Katoomba Street remains a 2026 Good Food listing for naturally fermented sourdough, croissants, danishes and pastry snails, plus beef and lentil pies. Co-owners Kris Clarke and Francesca Sidoti bake limited potato bread (about 15 loaves a day). It is the practical Katoomba refuel after Echo Point, Giant Stairway or Prince Henry Cliff Walk - two minutes from the train, no national-park setting, just serious bread. Expect queues on weekends; go early.

Access & getting there

Katoomba town centre, walk from Katoomba Station. Confirm opening hours before a weekday visit; historically closed some Mondays.

185 Katoomba Street, Katoomba NSW 2780

Safety notes

Busy main street; watch traffic with packs on.

Gear notes

Cash or card; bags of bread do not love rain so pack a dry sack.
