Homestead Creek campground
Far West, NSW
River-red-gum campground for tents, vans and motorhomes — the walking-track base in Mutawintji National Park.
About this place
Homestead Creek campground has about 50 unpowered sites under river red gums, with toilets, showers, barbecues and picnic tables. NPWS notes it is a remote camp: bring drinking and cooking water plus firewood or a fuel stove. It sits beside the park’s main walks; Mutawintji Historic Site is nearby but only on a guided tour. Book online; limited Telstra at the visitor centre on the way in.
Access & getting there
Unsealed roads from Broken Hill (~130 km). Closed after rain. No drinking water on site. Book via NPWS. Tell someone your plans.
