Green Cape Lighthouse
South Coast, NSW
NSW's southernmost lighthouse in Beowa National Park, 45 minutes south of Eden — the other end of the Light to Light walk, with whale watching and keepers' cottages.
About this place
Green Cape Lighthouse is the southern terminus of the already-listed Light to Light walk and a destination in its own right. The 1883 tower stands on a wild headland above Disaster Bay; the Ly-ee-Moon wreck of 1886 is part of the story, with graves on the slopes. Keepers' cottages are bookable. Guided tower tours run by request through NPWS Merimbula (fees, bookings). The unsealed road can need all-wheel drive when wet. Park entry $8 per vehicle in the Green Cape area. Excellent land-based whale watching in spring.
Access & getting there
From Eden, Princes Highway ~16 km then Edrom Road and Green Cape Road through state forest to the park. Unsealed; AWD in wet weather. Book lighthouse tours via NPWS Merimbula 02 6495 5000.
