Governors Head lookout
Jervis Bay, NSW
Easy 1.1 km walk from Murrays Beach carpark in Booderee to a lookout over Bowen Island, penguins, seals and Jervis Bay.
About this place
Parks Australia lists Governors Head as a grade 2, 1.1 km (about 20 minute) walk from Murrays Beach carpark in Booderee National Park. The lookout faces Bowen Island and its little penguin colony, with chances of seals, dolphins, whales (June-July and September-November) and, early in the morning, endangered eastern bristlebird. Murrays Beach is 300 m from the same carpark for a swim. The Munyunga waraga dhugan loop is the longer cultural walk in this precinct. A Booderee park pass is required. This is the southern, Territory side of Jervis Bay, not the NSW Hyams precinct.
