Golden Stairs walking track
Blue Mountains, NSW
Short, steep 1.6 km return, 200 m descent from Glen Raphael Drive to Federal Pass and Ruined Castle access.
About this place
NPWS Golden Stairs is 1.6 km return, 1-1.25 hours, a 200 m descent through cliff bands with views of Dogface Landslide, the Three Sisters, Jamison Valley and Mount Solitary. Federal Pass at the bottom leads south to Ruined Castle and Mount Solitary, or north toward the Landslide and Giant Stairway. The climb back takes about 45 minutes. Check alerts: Federal Pass has had closures between Furber Steps and Scenic World Valley Stations, which can block through-walks even if the stairs themselves are open.
