Glow Worm Tunnel walking track
Wollemi, NSW
Easy 6 km return from the Glow Worm Tunnel carpark through pagodas and a 387 m historic railway tunnel lit by glow worms.
About this place
NPWS lists Glow Worm Tunnel walking track as a 6 km return, 2-3 hour family walk in Wollemi National Park near Lithgow. From the carpark at the end of Glowworm Tunnel Road it is about 1.5 km to the 387-metre former Wolgan Valley railway tunnel, dark enough to see glow worms by day. Beyond the tunnel another 1.5 km reaches a lookout over Donkey Mountain and Wolgan Valley. Use a red light, stay quiet, and stay on the path. The Newnes side may close after heavy rain.
