Carpark at the end of Glowworm Tunnel Road, the standard trailhead for the Glow Worm Tunnel walks.
About this place
NPWS starts both Glow Worm Tunnel walking track and Glow Worm Tunnel via Wolgan Valley loop at the carpark at the end of Glowworm Tunnel Road in Wollemi National Park. This is the practical trailhead while Newnes campground is walk-in only because Wolgan Road has collapsed. Parking is limited on summer weekends. There is no mobile reception. Download the NPWS audio tour and park map before you leave Lithgow.
Access & getting there
From Lithgow take State Mine Gully / Glowworm Tunnel Road onto the Newnes Plateau. Unsealed; 2WD when dry. Do not attempt Wolgan Road to Newnes. Arrive early on weekends.
