Gerroa picnic area
Illawarra, NSW
A bush picnic area in Seven Mile Beach National Park at Gerroa, with a short dune walk onto the long beach between Kiama and Shoalhaven Heads.
About this place
Gerroa picnic area is the northern day-use heart of Seven Mile Beach National Park — a different Seven Mile Beach from the already-listed Lennox Head strip. Surrounded by coastal forest yet metres from the sand, it has picnic tables and a walk over the dunes onto Seven Mile Beach for a swim or fish. The Sand track walk (north) heads toward Beach Road picnic area for birdwatching (white-naped honeyeater, little wattlebird, black-faced cuckoo-shrike). Open 6 am–8 pm in summer, 6 am–6 pm in winter.
