4 km loop from Federal Falls campground on Mount Canobolas — easy forest walking then a steep railed descent to the falls.
About this place
NPWS Federal Falls walking track is Grade 3, 4 km loop (1-2 hours) starting and finishing at Federal Falls campground in Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area. Most of the walk is easy; the last 336 m is a very steep incline down to the falls with a rail to assist and should only be used by people confident on steep ground. Altitude weather changes quickly. Birds and butterflies in season. Combine with Summit lookout or Spring Glade. No dogs.
Access & getting there
Enter the SCA on Mount Canobolas Road, right onto Towac Road; campground on the right. Parking at the campground. Check weather before steep descent to the falls.
