Fans Horizon walking track
Warrumbungles, NSW
Short steep 3.6 km return from Pincham with 1,000 steps to Breadknife, Belougery Spire and Crater Bluff views.
About this place
Fans Horizon walking track is the time-poor alternative to Grand High Tops: 3.6 km return (1.5–2.5 hours, Grade 3) from Pincham carpark, climbing more than 1,000 steps to a lookout on Balgatan Mountain. NPWS says you get magnificent views of the Breadknife, Belougery Spire and Crater Bluff without the full 14.5 km loop (that longer walk is already listed elsewhere). Start early and carry water. Park entry $8.
Access & getting there
From Coonabarabran via John Renshaw Parkway then Pincham Road. Park entry $8. Not the Breadknife and Grand High Tops walk — a separate steep lookout climb from the same carpark.
Pincham carpark, Pincham Road, Warrumbungle National Park NSW 2828
Safety notes
Steep exposed steps and cliff edges. Carry water. Fill in a trip intention form at the visitor centre.
