Ebor Falls
New England, NSW
Guy Fawkes River dropping 100 m over two basalt tiers — four lookout platforms on Waterfall Way between Armidale and the coast.
About this place
Ebor Falls in Guy Fawkes River National Park is the classic Waterfall Way rest stop, with the river plunging over columned basalt at the Upper Falls and Permian rock at the Lower Falls. Four lookout platforms — including Gumbaynggirr-named Maam Nyayagi and Maam Gawbarrigamba — give different angles on the gorge. A 360 m accessible loop serves the Upper Falls, and the 2 km return Muurlay Garriirlgundi track links both tiers past six lookouts. Picnic and barbecue at the adjoining rest area; camping is not permitted here (use Cathedral Rock nearby).
Access & getting there
Sealed access. Step-free concrete paths from Upper and Lower Falls carparks to lookouts, picnic facilities and accessible toilets. Signposted as an RMA rest area.
Ebor Falls Rd, Ebor NSW 2453 (1 km west of Ebor on Waterfall Way, then follow park signs)
Safety notes
Stay behind lookout barriers. Cliff and unstable edges. Do not climb past fencing.
Gear notes
Camera and a warm layer. The 2 km linking walk needs comfortable walking shoes.
