About this place
Dead Horse Gully campground is about 1.5 km north of Tibooburra off the Silver City Highway. NPWS provides unpowered unmarked sites for tents, trailers and caravans, toilets, barbecues, picnic tables and (unusually for Sturt) water. Book online. Park entry $8. The Granites walking track (3 km loop, Grade 3) starts here among 450-million-year-old granite tors. Often the last campground still open when western park roads flood.
Access & getting there
1.5 km north of Tibooburra on Silver City Highway, left at the campground sign. Unsealed short access; 2WD when dry. Supplies in Tibooburra. Book online; coin park-entry machines.
