Crosslands Reserve
Hornsby, NSW
Hornsby Heights picnic and camping base on Berowra Creek — the main day-walk trailhead for the Great North Walk through Berowra Valley.
About this place
Crosslands is the leafy creek-flat at the end of Somerville Road, Hornsby Heights, inside Berowra Valley National Park. Council has run the reserve since 1921; it is the practical picnic, playground and camping stop between Galston Gorge and Berowra Waters. Walk the Place of Winds boardwalk, join Benowie/Great North Walk in either direction, or just barbecue under the casuarinas. Sealed road access is gated. Camping blocks are unpowered, no showers, and must be booked. Dogs are not allowed.
Access & getting there
Sealed road to the end of Somerville Road. Gates typically 8am-5pm (longer in daylight saving; NPWS notes 8am-7.30pm DST and 9am-5pm otherwise — check Hornsby Council before you go). Alternative access on foot via the Great North Walk. Camping by booking only.
Somerville Rd, Hornsby Heights NSW 2077
