Charlotte Pass Village

Snowy Mountains, NSW

Australia's highest ski village at 1760 m; summer road access to Main Range walks, winter oversnow only from Perisher.

About this place

Charlotte Pass is Australia's oldest and highest ski resort village (base about 1755-1760 m) in Kosciuszko National Park. In summer, Kosciuszko Road from Jindabyne continues past Perisher to the pass, the usual start for the Main Range walk and the old Summit Road walk toward Mount Kosciuszko. In winter the road is closed between Perisher and Charlotte Pass (June to October long weekends) and the village is snowbound: access is by Charlotte Pass oversnow transport from Perisher Valley Skitube terminal (book via charlottepass.com.au). Five lifts serve 19 runs. NPWS and Charlotte Pass Village Pty Ltd operate the resort precinct. Distinct from Perisher and Thredbo villages.

Access & getting there

Summer: drive Kosciuszko Road from Jindabyne past Perisher to the pass. Winter: Skitube or drive to Perisher, then pre-booked oversnow from Perisher Valley Skitube Terminal. Overnight parking at Bullocks Flat Skitube, not Perisher. Park entry fees apply.
