Cape Solander Lookout
Sutherland Shire, NSW
Kamay Botany Bay's whale-watching headland — sandstone cliffs at the southern entrance to Botany Bay.
About this place
Cape Solander sits on the southern headland of Botany Bay in Kamay Botany Bay National Park, a short drive from Kurnell. In whale season the lookout is one of Sydney's most reliable land-based spotting points, with a purpose-built platform. Outside whale months you still get wild clifftop walking and birdlife. Pair it with the park's walking tracks and the Meeting Place precinct at Kurnell.
Access & getting there
Drive via Captain Cook Drive to Kurnell, then into the national park. Park entry fee applies. Best whale watching typically May to September.
