About this place
Caloma lookout is on one of the highest points in the Wanda Wandong sector of Goobang National Park. NPWS describes a short 50 m stroll from the carpark to westerly views, with black cypress pine, grevillea, lomandra, heath and tall grass trees some of which may be centuries old. Wedge-tailed eagles, brown goshawks and brown falcons are often seen. Reaching the lookout is a longer unsealed drive: Eastern Boundary trail 3.2 km, Pipeclay Creek trail 5.2 km, then Caloma Trig trail 1 km. Great day trip from Parkes, Dubbo or Peak Hill.

Unsealed management trails; high-clearance useful. Follow Eastern Boundary trail 3.2 km, south on Pipeclay Creek trail 5.2 km, right to Sawpit Gully then left on Caloma Trig trail 1 km. Not a highway lookout — allow time for slow dirt roads.
