Bungoona Lookout and Path
Royal National Park, NSW
Wheelchair-accessible 920m return concrete path to a Hacking River panorama, just inside the Loftus entrance to Royal National Park.
About this place
Bungoona path is Royal National Park's best accessible lookout: a 1.5m-wide concrete path from the NPWS office carpark off Farnell Avenue to a ridgetop view of the Hacking River. NPWS: 0.92km return, Grade 1, about 30 minutes, no steps. Picnic tables at the start, benches along the way and at the platform, accessible toilets beside two accessible parking bays. Pair it with Reids Flat picnic area down the hill. It is the opposite of the Coast Track — short, sealed and genuinely pram- and wheelchair-friendly.
Access & getting there
Turn off Princes Highway at Farnell Avenue. First left after the vehicle entry station into the NPWS office. Two accessible parking spaces beside the toilets. Park 7am-8.30pm, $12 per vehicle.
