Bonnie Vale Picnic Area

Royal National Park, NSW

Sheltered Port Hacking picnic flats at Bundeena — swimming in Cabbage Tree Basin, kayaks, and the walking start for Jibbon Head.

About this place

Bonnie Vale is the Bundeena picnic base: tables and gas barbecues under trees beside Cabbage Tree Basin, with calm water for swimming, lilos and hired kayaks from Bundeena Kayaks. Walk over to Jibbon Beach for fishing or the headland engravings. The Cronulla–Bundeena ferry is the nicest way in. Camping in the picnic area is prohibited (use the separate Bonnie Vale campground). Park 7am-8.30pm, $12 per vehicle. It is the practical Royal leftover when Wattamolla and Audley are already in the dataset.

Access & getting there

From Audley, Sir Bertram Stevens Drive about 10km, left on Bundeena Drive into town, left on Sea Breeze Lane to the carpark. Or ferry Cronulla to Bundeena and walk. Park 7am-8.30pm, $12 per vehicle. No camping or campervans in the picnic area.

2 Sea Breeze Lane, Bonnie Vale NSW 2232

Safety notes

Supervise children in the basin. No camping in the picnic area — fines apply. Unpatrolled water.

Gear notes

Picnic kit, swim gear, sunscreen. Kayak hire in Bundeena if you do not bring your own.
