Bondi Icebergs
Eastern Suburbs, NSW
Bondi's cliff-edge ocean pool at the south end of the beach — winter swimming club, summer sunset and the coastal walk's true start.
About this place
Bondi Icebergs has been a winter swimming club since 1929, and the tidal pool on the headland is still the image people mean when they say Bondi at dusk. You can swim the pool (entry fee), eat at the club with that view, or just stand on Notts Avenue as the sun drops over the beach. This is also where the Bondi to Coogee walk begins. Go late on a clear winter afternoon — the sandstone and the pool hold the last light.
Access & getting there
Pool entry fee for swimming. Club dining is separate from Icebergs Dining Room upstairs. Buses to Bondi Beach. Limited parking.
1 Notts Ave, Bondi Beach NSW 2026
Safety notes
Ocean pool — waves wash over in big swell and it may close. Rock platforms are slippery. Supervise kids near the cliff.
Gear notes
Swimmers and a towel if using the pool. A layer for wind at sunset.
