About this place
Bar Beach is the sandy spit where Merimbula Lake meets the sea, right beside town: calm water on the lake side, surf over the bar, and a boardwalk toward the Main Street cafes. It is the practical Merimbula extra for a swim and a feed after Green Cape, Mimosa Rocks or a drive down from Narooma. Ocean Beach / Merimbula's surf beach is a short walk south if you want more swell. Longstocking Brewery at nearby Pambula is the craft-beer stop on the highway.
Access & getting there
In the centre of Merimbula. Parking around Beach Street and the lake foreshore. Boardwalk to town cafes.

Currents in the bar/inlet can be strong on the tide. Swim in the sheltered lake side if unsure. Ocean side is surf.
