Aragunnu campground
South Coast, NSW
Beach camping in Mimosa Rocks National Park — grassy mahogany shade, a coastal boardwalk and Yuin country by the rocks.
About this place
Aragunnu is one of four main camps in Mimosa Rocks National Park between Tathra and Bermagui, with distinct pockets from beach-edge bush to elevated sites west of the sand. A 200 m boardwalk and a short paved path reach lookouts over Aragunnu Bay and the park's namesake volcanic rocks. The Mimosa Rocks walk passes an Aboriginal site on the way to a headland lookout — stay on track and treat cultural places with respect. Book NPWS sites; beaches here are unpatrolled with strong rips. Whale watching from the headlands in season is excellent.
Access & getting there
Turn off Tathra-Bermagui Road onto Aragunnu Road; campground is about 3 km. Book with NPWS. Mostly flat, step-free campground with packed ground and paved paths.
