Apple Tree picnic area

Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, NSW

Cowan Creek waterfront picnic at Apple Tree Bay — barbecues, boat ramp and the Berowra walking-track trailhead in Ku-ring-gai Chase.

About this place

Apple Tree picnic area (Apple Tree Bay) is a drive-in waterfront picnic in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, a gateway to walking tracks, the boat ramp and Cowan Creek. NPWS picnic tables and barbecues sit in the shade; there is no longer a cafe on site. It is the start of Berowra walking track: a 1km, 30-minute side trip from the Mount Ku-ring-gai to Berowra station walk, or a 10km station-to-station day with this bay as the lunch stop. Park entry fees apply. Combine with Bobbin Head a few kilometres south on the same waterway. Bring your own food.
